KXIP vs KKR





KXIP VS KKR, the first match of Saturday’s double header. Lets see if KXIP can avoid a sixth loss.

For KKR the playing 11 remains the same except, Prasidh comes in for Mavi, who has a few niggles. For KXIP Cottrell has a few niggles so Jordan comes in.

Kolkata Knight Riders have won the toss and have opted to bat.

Gill and Tripathi are ready to roll as Mohammad Shami charges in to bowl the opening over of the match.

 Very impressive bowling by youngster Arshdeep Singh, with a MAIDEN to start off his spell.

Second over of Shami and he has a wicket to his name,50th IPL wicket for Shammi. Tripathi will have to go back. Nitish Rana replaces him on the field.

 KKR 13-1, after 3 overs.

Quick wickets for KKR, a mix up results in the run out of Nitish Rana.

Eoin Morgan steps on the crease.

A slow powerplay for KKR, 25 for 2 in six overs. This is one of the lowest powerplay scores this IPL season. A spectacular start for Punjab. A much improved bowling performance than their previous matches.

KKR 60-2 after 10 overs.

Sharp bowling by another youngster, Ravi Bishnoi. Morgan departs giving a easy catch in the hands of Maxwell. Another economical over from Bishnoi. Captain Dinesh Karthik comes to the crease. KKR are 63-3 after 12.

Only seven runs from Bishnoi’s third over, Mujeeb however has not been as economical, he finishes his spell with 0 for 44. KKR move to 91-3 after 14 overs.

Shubman Gill raises another half century with a four from 42 balls.

Good comeback KKR as Dinesh Karthik Strikes back to back boundaries for his team against Chris Jordan. Hopes Alive for KKR.

At 17.5, Shubhan Gill’s Well played Innings comes to an end as he is run out.

Russell comes to the crease.

KKR 146-4 after 18.

Arshdeep comes back for his last over, and takes out Russell as the ball is caught by Simran Singh behind the wickets. Russell could not show his muscles today.

Pat Cummins comes to the crease. KKR at 155-5 after 19 overs. Arshdeep finishes with 1 for 25.

Last over for the innings, Jordan is back into attack. At the last ball Dinesh Karthik is run out!! Putting up a total of 164-6 for KXIP to chase.

The second innings commence, Rahul and Agarwal are at the crease and Cummins will open the bowling.

KKR starts off strong with a good bowling attack only giving 8 runs off the first two overs. The required run rate for KXIP is 8.72.

Turn around for KXIP with 47-0 at the end of the powerplay.

KXIP need 118 runs in 84 balls.

Once again KL Rahul hits another half century with a four.

Mayank Agarwal also hits a half century in 33 balls.

Brilliant inning from both the players.

KKR wish for a wicket was met by Prasidh Krishna and an easy catch was caught by Shubman Gill. Mayank Agarwal was sent back at 56bruns in 39 balls.

Nicholas Pooran comes on the strike in a wonderful form and ends the over with a cracking six.

OFF SPIN ball by Sunil Narine and a wrong hit by Nicholas pooran and wicket. Nicholas Pooran out at 16 on 10 balls.

Simran singh comes on the strike.

2 wickets in the same over by Parisdh Krishna.  Simran singh and KL Rahul a very big over for KKR. Rahul departs 74 off 58.

A very tough time for Punjab,

Maxwell and Mandeep singh are now at the crease.

Last over of the match, KXIP needs 12 from 5 balls now.  A couple runs was scored by Maxwell. But Narine pulls back well with Mandeep’s wicket. With six needed to tie the game, at the last ball , Maxwell strikes for a six but the ball lands just short of the ropes and pulls a four. A very close call for KXIP. KKR moves up to the third position.

KKR wins the match by 2 runs.
